My love for weddings and events began very early in life. I am a second-generation wedding and event designer/planner. Looking back, I cannot remember a time when my mom was not designing, planning, and/or staging some kind of amazing event. Weddings, receptions, engagement parties, luncheons, corporate events, fundraisers, anniversaries, birthday parties, bridal or baby showers...she had the unique ability to turn whatever she touched into a work of art, a thing of beauty—creating ambiance that was always admired. From my youngest years, I was intently watching, and later, shadowing and assisting. Living this “eventful” life with my mom, inspired me with a passion and love for the privilege and process of creating and expressing beauty in the context of celebrating life’s most anticipated days.
In college, my love for event planning met with many opportunities—only this time, I was solo. I was hired as the director of events for a non-profit organization. It was amazing training and experience, and the precursor for the life I am living, now.
I have been married to my husband, Richard Crawford for 14 years, our marriage is truly a gift from God and I am thankful every single day for what we have been given. We have two children, Caileigh, 13 and Cate, 9. Two years after we were married, we relocated from Kansas City, Missouri, to the Gulf Coast, just north of Orange Beach, Alabama. Event planning and design went into high gear, as my husband became the director of a non-profit organization dedicated to restoring the lives of troubled young men. Again, I was given an opportunity to do what I love, but this time in the context of fundraising for a wonderful ministry. We directed that ministry for 6 years, until we transitioned back into the marketplace and re-launched our businesses in Gulf Shores, AL specializing in commercial and residential design and boutique luxury weddings.
Being a wife and mom is my favorite. Celebrating this life of beauty and wonder with my girls is a continual gift and a privilege for which I am so very thankful. A few of my favorite things are: discovering new places, going on adventures with my family, trying new flavors of potato chips, dark chocolate, videography, making flower arrangements, a good cup of coffee, and a relaxing spa day. For me, the real gift is loving on and spending time with the people in my life, and I am always on the lookout for ways to do that more effectively.
I would love to get to know you and share in your vision for one of the most anticipated days of your life. It would be an honor to partner with you and your family in making those dreams come true!
